Sasha's Superhero Run
A community 5K run/walk & kids' fun run raising funds for Ukrainian children affected by war and the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Every Step Carries
a Superhero's Heart
Honoring Our Children
Organized by the family and friends of Sasha, who passed away unexpectedly as a baby on Christmas Eve 2016. The superhero theme honors all parents whose babies and children passed before their time — because it takes superhero strengths to go on after a child dies.
Community & Connection
This event is a joyful community gathering, raising funds and aiming to connect loss families and honor the memory of their heavenly children. Everyone is welcome — runners, walkers, volunteers, and supporters.
Making a Difference
Since 2022, $61,000 was raised for reputable charity organizations and children's hospitals in Ukraine. Since inception, $55,000 has been donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region. In 2026, proceeds will be split between both causes.

Memories
A Brief Life,
A Bright Light
Sasha Hudson White of Mechanicville, NY, passed away suddenly on December 24, 2016 at home from what was later determined to be SIDS. He was born just 3.5 weeks earlier, on November 30, to his proud parents Olya Prevo-White and Christopher Scott White.
Before being born — when his gender was still unknown — he was dubbed the "Fox-Monkey." While still in his mama's belly, Sasha went on many adventures with his family: he ran in several 5K races, participated in a triathlon, traveled to London, visited family in Kyiv, hiked Mount Jo in the Adirondacks, visited New York City, and spent a lot of time swimming.
When Sasha was born, he made his family the happiest people on Earth. He loved falling asleep "milkdrunk" in his mama's arms, listening to Ukrainian lullabies. He adored being held by his daddy, who sang him tunes by Alt-J, Irish folk songs, and Tibetan hymns. He loved being in his sister Myah's arms, who danced with him, soothed him, and together they chased the cats around. He loved taking baths and always insisted on having his feet free from any clothing.
Although Sasha's time with his family was brief, he was a wise teacher, a zen-master, and he brightened the world with his beautiful smiles. Sasha taught us how bright and joyous life can be, and that every moment should be treasured.
You Are a Superhero
Although Sasha's Run was first organized in honor of our son, Sasha, this event quickly became about many other babies and children who left this world before their time, and about their parents.
We adopted the superhero theme in order to honor all loss parents — because it takes superhero strengths to go on after a child dies.
At 11:15 AM, after the race, we will hold a brief memorial ceremony to honor the children who died and to recognize their families.
You are not alone. We see you. We honor your strength.
